Caron Joy Portfolio is a collection of some photos from the line. Caron Joy started designing and manufacturing women’s separates in the late 80’s in California. Her degree and experience in Interior Design blended with her passion for fashion led her to market items she was making for the fashion industry. The first collections were cotton knit separates influenced by Japanese fashions she had seen on a trip to Japan. Contemporary Designers Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo, and Yohji Yamamoto were creating new shapes and a ease that reflected California’s casual way of living. In combination with the exciting textiles she saw in Italy at the time, she created her own interpretations for the California lifestyle . The collections continued to grow with her innovative leggings and unitards and lace separates inspired by rock fashion influences of Madonna and Cindi Lauper. Easy dresses with gorgeous floral prints led the next trend and it seemed a natural to develop a girls clothing line .Using fluid fabrics with ruffles on seam lines and mixing of special prints Caron Joy became known for girls dresses taking on a new twist. Even dresses for special occasions became more casual using fluid stretch poly fabrics and prints with heat pressed rhinestones and a softness and young maturity.Caron Joy press is only some images that were retained from the collections. Caron Joy developed hand knit sweaters, and later imported cashmere sweaters and robes. Fleece lined leggings, active wear and trendy items are currently available.
